Description
The Secretary-Treasurer functions as the financial steward, chief record-keeper, compliance officer, and co-signatory authority of Local 720, ensuring both transparency and accountability to the membership and to the International.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages all union funds – collects dues, pays bills, keeps accurate records.
Reports finances – quarterly and annually to members, Trustees, and the International.
Keeps official records - including minutes, membership rolls, contracts, and correspondence.
Ensures compliance – files required tax and government reports.
Protects accountability – co-signs checks, oversees audits, issues CPA-verified financial statements.
Supports transparency – reports delinquencies, disciplinary actions, litigation, and legislation.
Oversees office staff – to keep the union’s finances and records accurate and accountable.
